About Us

Rethio’s founders began working together by building data collection tools to combat the sex trafficking of women and children. Co-founders Ryan Dalton and Brandon Hamric built a counter-trafficking intelligence platform after Dalton's encounters with human trafficking in Mexico, Nepal, and throughout Tennessee while working as a lawyer.

After recognizing the shift of human trafficking to the internet and the inability for law enforcement to collect actionable intelligence from disparate listings for underage victims in the commercial sex trade, they developed a toolset built on data scraping, crawling, data warehousing, and analytics technologies as a platform to assist law enforcement in tracking and analysis of online activities potentially linked to underage victims. Rescue Forensics was accepted into YCombinator, where Ryan and Brandon continued to build the platform and get it in the hands of investigators.

Rescue Forensics emerged as a crucial resource for law enforcement. Rescue Forensics specialized in collecting and documenting online evidence to aid in prosecuting traffickers, focusing on the transient nature of online listings as the primary data source for collection and analysis. Their work, marked by a dedication to social impact, led to the adoption of their technology by numerous state and federal agencies across the U.S. and Europe, ultimately resulting in over 150 victims of human trafficking recovered. Rescue Forensics has been featured in Fast Company, Business Insider, Vice, Tech Crunch, Hacked, Yahoo Finance, and Venture Beat.

From our roots, Rethio has evolved into a catalyst for business transformation through data.
